Prospectus

THEME:

YorkArts announces a call for proposals.  All curators and emerging curators interested in developing their professional experience seeking a contemporary non-profit exhibition venue are encouraged to submit plans for exhibition in YorkArts’ gallery in early 2012.  Curatorial proposals in which the work contributes to ongoing dialogue about contemporary art are preferred as well as proposals pushing the boundaries of curating in new directions

CALENDAR:

Exhibition Dates:                 February 2 – March 24, 2012

Submission:  NEW EXTENDED deadline September 30, 2011

Notification Date:               October 30, 2011

FEES:

There are no fees to submit a proposal.

YorkArts retains a 30% commission on any sales.

MEDIA:

              Proposals for exhibition may feature work in any medium.

SUBMISSION: 

              All submissions should be formatted according to the guidelines detailed on page two of this prospectus.  Submissions must be mailed or hand delivered.  E-mail entries will not be accepted.

 

PHOTOGRAPHS:  

              YorkArts reserves the right to photograph or otherwise reproduce works in the exhibition for the purpose of press or public information.

LIABILITY:

              YorkArts will not be responsible for any loss or damage to the works while submitted while out of our physical custody such as during shipping.  YorkArts will handle all work with proper diligence and work in the gallery is fully insured for the value listed by the artist.

Submission of proposal for this show is an acknowledgement that you have read the terms of this prospectus and accept and consent

to said terms.
